On June 1, 2026, 27 EDGE team members stepped away from their desks and rolled up their sleeves for something bigger than any project deadline. Together, they spent an afternoon at A Child’s Hope International—a Cincinnati-based charity committed to feeding children and families both locally and across the globe through the power of volunteering. What they accomplished is hard to overstate.

A Small Charity Doing Big Work
A Child’s Hope International has been quietly doing extraordinary work in the Cincinnati community and beyond. Their mission is straightforward but profound: make sure children and families have enough to eat. They tackle hunger both in their own backyard and in communities around the world, channeling the power of volunteering and donations to get nutritious food to those who need it most.
When EDGE had the opportunity to partner with them, it was an easy yes.
What the Team Actually Did
The work itself was hands-on and immediate. Each volunteer joined an assembly line to pack individual food bags filled with a carefully measured combination of vitamins, dehydrated vegetables, soy, and rice. The mix is designed for maximum nutrition—the kind of balanced meal that supports a child’s growth and health when other options aren’t available.
There’s something grounding about the simplicity of the task. No screens. No meetings. Just 27 people working side by side, filling bags, and making a direct difference.
The Numbers That Put It in Perspective
By the end of that single hour, the EDGE team had packed almost 10,000 bags of food.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Each employee contributed enough packed food to feed a child for nearly an entire year. That’s 27 team members each leaving behind a year’s worth of meals for a child who would otherwise go without. In 60 minutes, the group collectively created something that will sustain real children in real communities for months to come.
Numbers like these are a reminder that showing up matters—even for just an hour.
More Than a Volunteer Day
It would be easy to frame this as a feel-good break from the workday. But what happened reflects something deeper about who EDGE is as a team.
“Watching our team pack nearly 10,000 meals in a single hour reminds us of what’s possible when people come together for something bigger than themselves,” said Jake Sims, Chief Operating Officer at EDGE. “We’re incredibly proud of our volunteers, and we’re committed to continuing to show up for Cincinnati and the communities where we work and live around the globe.”
Volunteering together builds a different kind of connection than a team lunch or an offsite meeting. When you’re working shoulder to shoulder on something that matters outside of your own goals and incentives, you see your coworkers differently. You’re not just coworkers—you’re people who care about the same things.
That shared sense of purpose is worth more than any team-building exercise. The EDGE team didn’t just give back to the community on June 1. They reinforced what kind of company they want to be.
Gratitude All Around
A sincere thank you goes out to every one of the 27 team members who gave their time, energy, and effort. And an even bigger thank you goes to A Child’s Hope International for organizing an experience that was as meaningful as it was efficient. In just one hour, the team was able to change the lives of thousands of families—and the results speak for themselves.
